Introduction and Education

Prof. (Dr.) Devendra Chopra is a distinguished alumnus of Saraswati Dental College & Hospital (SDC&H), Lucknow, where he earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) as a member of the 2001 batch. He completed his Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Prosthodontics in 2011 from Babu Banarasi Das College of Dental Sciences (BBDCODS), Lucknow, graduating as a Gold Medalist.

Committed to continuous academic and clinical excellence, he has undergone advanced comprehensive training at the University of Murcia, Spain. He currently serves as Professor and Head, Department of Prosthodontics, SDC&H, Lucknow, where he is actively involved in teaching, research, clinical practice, and academic leadership.

Prof. Chopra holds prestigious international certifications from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), USA, and the European Bioner Academy. He has also earned 64 international continuing education credit hours accredited by the American Dental Association (ADA) and serves as a Faculty Affiliate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI).

An accomplished academician and researcher, he has authored 47 scientific publications in national and international journals and holds five patents, reflecting his commitment to innovation in dentistry. He has also contributed the chapter on "Post-Endodontic Restorations" in the internationally acclaimed textbook Essentials in Endodontics, edited by the eminent academician Prof. Dr. Vimal Sikri.

His principal areas of expertise include Dental Implantology, CAD/CAM Prosthodontics, and Digital Dentistry & Obstructive Sleep Apnea(OSA). In a landmark achievement, Prof. Chopra became the first Prosthodontist in India to receive accreditation from the American College of Physicians after completing its Certificate Course in Sleep Medicine with Honors. He is recognized as a specialist in sleep-related breathing disorders, with a particular focus on the diagnosis and management of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) through oral appliance therapy & dental sleep medicine.

With an unwavering commitment to excellence in patient care, research, and education, Prof. Chopra continues to contribute significantly to the advancement of prosthodontics and interdisciplinary dental practice at both national and international levels. He has been awarded Best Scientific Paper at many speciality conferences. An eminent orator who was awarded as a rising star of health education by Height of Success magazine in the year 2024.
