While waiting for your dental appointment, the following home remedies may help provide temporary relief:
1. Warm Salt Water Rinse
A warm salt water rinse can help reduce bacteria, soothe irritated tissues and remove food debris trapped around the affected tooth.
2. Cold Compress
Applying a cold compress on the cheek for 15 minutes at a time may help reduce swelling and temporarily relieves the pain..
3. Over-the-Counter Pain Relievers
Age-appropriate pain medications, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, may help relieve discomfort. Always follow the dosage instructions recommended by your pediatric dentist.
4. Preserve an Avulsed Permanent Tooth in Milk
If a permanent tooth is Dislodged completely, handle it only by the crown and store it in cold milk to help preserve the tooth until emergency dental care is available. Seek immediate dental attention, ideally within 30–60 minutes
