Do you know that sounds have the healing power? Interesting right! As we know that sounds are made up of frequencies but there are some particular frequencies that have healing properties for different ailments or conditions as well. Scientific studies prove that “atoms vibrate against each other to form a molecule and those atoms and molecules have signature vibrational waves that can be measured in Hertz.” Sound healing therapy is further supported by studies in quantum physics, sonocytology and physics on the basic principle that “everything exists due to vibration.” Early Christians, East Indians and Western Europeans utilized the ancient archetypal sounds, also known as Solfeggio frequencies or Schumann Resonance Frequency which is the definite frequency around the Earth and is equal to 7.83Hz. Ancient Indian Yogis referred to this as “OM”. There are theories which suggests that when our body is imbalanced or off centered it is naturally searching for this note. There are many Music Engineers who work upon developing such frequencies and helping people worldwide for human wellbeing. Some of their works are easily available on internet too.
The American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) defines music therapy as “an established health profession in which music is used within a therapeutic relationship to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals” (Barnett & Shale, 2012).
The medical science is developing intriguing discoveries and inventions day by day in the area of therapeutics and such discoveries evokes interest in health professionals to research and use newly found treatments and therapies and provide betterment to the mankind.
