“CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION”

The Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Saraswati Dental College & Hospital, celebrated Children’s Day with great enthusiasm and joy on 17th November 2025. The event was organized to engage children, students and interns through creative activities while emphasizing the importance of oral health and child-centered care.
A series of competitions were conducted as part of the celebrations:
· Drawing Competition for pediatric patients on the theme “Good Food vs Bad Food.”
· Pebble Art Competition for BDS 3rd-year students, showcasing creative artwork on dental or children-related themes.
· Bookmark Designing Competition for BDS 4th-year students on the topic of “Children’s day”.
· Poster Competition for Interns based on the theme “Importance of Pediatric Dentistry”.
The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Dr. Rajat Mathur, Director, Saraswati Group of Institutions; Dr. Smita Mathur, Director, SHRC; Dr. Alka Yadu, Dean Basic Sciences ; Commander Sumit Ghosh, NAAC Advisor; Heads of various Departments; and faculty members, whose presence elevated the spirit of the celebration.
The programme commenced with the prize distribution ceremony, where winners of all competitions were awarded. An engaging auction of the students’ and children’s art pieces followed, adding excitement and appreciation for their efforts.
The celebration continued with a cheerful cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing joy and togetherness, followed by hi-tea for all attendees.
To make the event even more interactive for children, tattoo painting station and a selfie point was set up, where kids and participants enjoyed. Additionally, a dedicated counter was arranged for our sponsors, where toothpaste samples were displayed, promoting preventive oral care for children.
The Children’s Day programme concluded on a warm and festive note, leaving behind happy memories and reinforcing the department’s commitment to child-friendly dental care and creative learning.
