World Head and Neck Cancer Day Celebration at SDC&H – July 25, 2025
On July 25, 2025 Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology & Oral Microbiology SDC&H organized and observed World Head and Neck Cancer Day with a series of impactful events aimed at raising awareness among students, faculty, and the local community.
The event began with an inaugural session featuring a keynote address by Dr. Shweta Singh, Professor who emphasized the significance of early detection and prevention of head and neck cancers. This was followed by an e-poster competition where BDS third year students actively participated, creatively conveying the message of cancer prevention and the importance of timely medical consultation.
A free screening camp was held in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, offering oral examinations and counseling for students and staff. Awareness posters, pamphlets, and models were displayed to educate attendees on symptoms and preventive measures.
The event concluded with felicitation ceremony of e-poster competition winners along with felicitation of judges and guest faculties. Whole crowd was addressed by Principal and Head of Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Dr Kunal Sah and Vice-Principal and Head of Department of Orthodontics Dr Kamlesh Singh.
The celebration successfully fulfilled its goal of educating the community and reinforcing the theme : ‘Your Health, Your Voice’.
