INTERDISCIPLINARY PROGRAM
The Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics in collaboration with Department of Periodontology hosted an Interdisciplinary program on “Esthetic Dentistry” on 25th March 2025, that explored the synergy between these two disciplines in achieving superior aesthetic outcomes for patient.
The program comprised of series of 3 lectures with the first lecture on “Indirect Veneer” by Dr. Ruchi Paharia, Dept. of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics. The lecture explained the operative aspect of the treatment modality. This was followed by a lecture titled “Smiles in a Snap: Revolutionizing Dentistry with Direct Veneers” by Dr. Shronika, Dept of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, which highlighted the potential of direct veneers as more than an interim restoration and its technical considerations.
The final lecture on “Perio Esthetics” was conducted by Dr. (Prof.) Chetan Chandra from Department of Periodontology. Perio aesthetics focuses on improving the appearance of the gums and their relationship to the teeth, which directly impacts the overall aesthetics of a smile.
The program was coordinated under the guidance of Dr. (Prof.) Supratim Tripathi (HOD, Dept of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics) and Dr. (Prof.) Vivek Bains (HOD, Dept of Periodontology).
Throughout this session all the participants explored the fundamentals and advanced concepts of periodontal aesthetics, veneering techniques, and their integration into cosmetic and restorative dentistry.
