Department of orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopeadics and Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery conducted an interdisciplinary program on “Orthognathic surgery” on 2nd December,2023. An interdisciplinary approach to orthognathic surgery integrates expertise from various fields, including maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics and sometimes other medical specialties, such as speech therapy, otolaryngology, and psychology.
Collaboration between specialists is crucial throughout the entire process, starting from the initial diagnosis and treatment planning. Together, they create a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to the patient's specific needs.
The interdisciplinary approach maximizes treatment effectiveness, minimizes risks, and enhances patient satisfaction. By merging expertise from various fields, this approach offers comprehensive care, resulting in improved function, aesthetics, and overall well-being for orthognathic surgery patients.
Day 1 Lecture was conducted by Dr. Jitender Kumar Aurora Prof And Head of Department of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and Dr. Aftab Azam Prof. Department of orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopeadics For the post graduate students.
Lecture included Diagnosis and Treatment Planning and Cephalometric analysis.
