At the 5th world congress of IFHNOS, July 27th was pronounced as the "World Head and Neck Cancer Day".This annual event is observed around the world to increase awareness about head and neck cancer amongst specialists, physicians, trainees and public at large.
The Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology celebrated World Head and Neck Cancer Day 2020 by initiating a tradition of elevating each other, under the title of "Elevating People is Our Tradition" specifically with our Alumni. It is an inception of a platform for sharing innovative ideas & knowledge for academic excellence.
The department conducted a webinar for the BDS final year students. Dr. Suzanne Tanya Nethan, Consultant (Medical) & Program Manager, Project ECHO, Clinical Oncology, ICMR-National Institute of Cancer Prevention & Research was the External Resource person, who also happens to be our Alumni from our very first postgraduate batch (2012-13).
The topic of the webinar was "Oral Cancer Prevention and the Role of Dentist”. The event was attended by Dr. Rajat Mathur, President Saraswati Group of Institutions, Dr. R.S. Bedi, Principal Saraswati Dental College along with faculty members of Sarswati Dental College and NICPR, Noida, Alumni of Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, post graduates and undergraduate students of Saraswati Dental College.
It was a very informative session and the day was celebrated with great zeal by one and all.
