The Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology forms the foundation of clinical dentistry. It, being the department concerned with the art and science of diagnosis, is situated at the doorstep, as the very first department in any institution.

Prosthodontics is that branch of dentistry pertaining to the restoration and maintenance of oral function, comfort, appearance and health of the patient by the restoration of the natural teeth and for the replacement of the missing teeth and contiguous oral and maxillofacial tissue with artificial substitutes.

The speciality of Conservative Dentistry deals with prevention and treatment of disease and injuries of the teeth, Here, diseased or fractured teeth are restored with restorative materials that are biologically acceptable and aesthetically pleasing.

The Department was established and is functioning since 1998 along with the establishment of Saraswati Dental College. Since then the department is being continually refined. This course will provide students with knowledge of dental materials, enabling them to understand links between materials and dentistry.

Preventive and Community Dentistry is a means of preventing dental diseases by proper and timely planning and implementation of preventive measures, with the dental health care of the poor and underprivileged masses being an important responsibility.

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery came into existence in the year 2000. Since then the department has achieved high academic and clinical standards under the able guidance of professors like Prof. R. S. Bedi, Prof. R. S. Dohlas, Dr.P. Sridhar Reddy, Assoc. Prof. Dr. L. C. Gupta. 

Periodontology is a specialized discipline of dentistry, which deals with health and disease of the supporting structures of teeth and oral mucous membrane. Our Department of Periodontology aspires to be recognized as one of the best department in Periodontology.

The Program is designed to prepare qualified world class Dental Surgeons for teaching, research and patient care. The rigorous course of study includes seminars, lectures, clinical cases, discussions and clinical paediatrics with the objective that the student will learn

To obtain proper clinical history, methodical case examination and diagnostic and treatment planning. To adopt ethical principles in all aspects of orthodontic practice. Competence in managing various techniques and the fabrication and use of various appliance systems: removable, fixed, functional and surgical.

Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology is the speciality of dentistry and discipline of pathology that deal with the nature, identification, and management of diseases affecting the oral and maxillofacial regions.

The Ultimate test of all dental education is to see how well it prepares the practitioner to serve the patient. No aspect of a dental school curriculum can give greater meaning to a clinical procedure or put it on a rational foundation that a thorough understanding of basic sciences.
